Troubleshooting: Creators See "Not Authorized to View This Source" on Their Live URL
When a creator opens a Live URL and sees the error "not authorized to view this source," it almost always means they've opened a link that isn't their own unique Live Site URL. Every creator has a personal Live Site link — a generic, shared, or another creator's link will return this error.
Quick answer: Send the creator their own unique Live Site URL from their Contact Profile, and make sure they've been added to the campaign or activation first.
1. Send the creator their unique Live Site URL
Each creator has a unique Live Site link generated specifically for them. If they open a different or generic link, they'll see "not authorized to view this source."
Open the creator's Contact Profile.
Copy their Live Site URL from the profile (see Finding a Creator's Live Site URL).
Send that creator only their own link — do not reuse or share one creator's Live URL with another creator.
2. Confirm the creator has been added to the campaign or activation
The Live Site is meant to be opened after a creator has agreed to work with you and has been added to the campaign or activation. If they open the link before they've been added, the portal can return access errors.
Confirm the creator has been added to the relevant campaign or activation.
Then re-send them their unique Live Site URL.
3. Accessing the payout setup portal
When a creator opens the link to set up their account and payment method, they should receive an email code to access the payout portal. Have them check their inbox (and spam folder) for that code to continue.
Still seeing the error? If the creator continues to see "not authorized to view this source" after confirming they're using their own unique link and have been added to the campaign or activation, reach out to GRIN Support with the creator's name and the exact link they're using.
