Letting Creators Propose Their Own Price in an Activation

Updated by Michel from GRIN

If you are moving creators to paid and want each creator to tell you what they want to be paid, that setting lives in the Payments module of your Activation. Activations do not have a Compensation step: that wording belongs to the older Campaigns, which is why this setting is easy to miss.

What You'll Need

  • An existing Activation you can edit.

How to Do It

  1. Open the Activation and go to Activation Settings.

  2. If you do not see a Payments section, select the arrow in the top right corner to open the slide-out panel, select Modules, then toggle the slider next to Payments to add it to your Activation Settings. The full walkthrough of every Activation module covers the rest of that panel.

  3. Open the Payments module and select the slider to enable Contract Payments.

  4. Under Contract Payments, select Creator proposes price.

  5. Select Save at the top of your Activation settings.

What Happens Next

Each creator enters the amount they want to be paid at the Payments step while completing your proposal on their Live URL. The amount they entered arrives with their proposal, so you see it when you review the proposal before you activate them. Once the work is done, you can pay them from the Activation.

Good to Know

  • Contract Payments offers three ways to pay, and you select one: Fixed payments, Per task type, or Creator proposes price. Choosing Creator proposes price means you are not setting the amount yourself.

  • Commissions is a separate payment type in the same module, so you can enable Commissions and Contract Payments together if you pay both a fee and a commission.

  • If your account still uses Campaigns instead of Activations, the equivalent setting is Allow Creator To Propose Price? in Step 4. Compensation.
