Creators fill in your landing page but do not appear in Applicants
Overview
You share your landing page, creators tell you they filled it in, and nothing appears in your Applicants list.
The usual cause is not a broken page. It is that the person submitting is already an accepted creator in your Contacts. The page checks the email address first, and when it recognises someone you have already accepted, it stops there instead of creating a second record for them. They never reach the application form, so nothing lands in Applicants.
This is by design. As creating a landing page explains, landing pages are meant for new potential creators who are not yet in your GRIN Contacts.
What happens to those creators instead
Their submission is redirected rather than lost. When the email matches a creator you have already accepted:
- They see a confirmation on the page telling them their Live URL has been found.
- GRIN emails that person their existing Live URL, with a subject line naming your program, so they can carry on in the record they already have.
- No new applicant and no duplicate contact is created.
If you are trying to work out whether this is what happened, the quickest check is to ask one of those creators whether that email arrived.
How to tell this apart from a broken page
- Get the exact email address a creator used on the page.
- Search your Contacts for it. If you find them already accepted as a creator, this is the expected behaviour and your page is healthy.
- If the email is not in your Contacts at all and they still did not appear, that is a different problem. Note the email and the time they submitted, and contact GRIN Support.
A useful sanity check is whether the page has recorded any applicant recently from an address that was not already in your Contacts. If it has, the page itself is working.
Getting existing creators into a new program
For creators you already have, the route does not start from the landing page. It starts from your Contacts, where you add them to the program or Activation directly. If you need to send someone their Live URL yourself, see finding a creator's Live Site URL.
