Adding Another Order for a Creator

Updated by Dan

By default, a GRIN activation places one order per creator. This helps prevent accidentally sending duplicate products to the same creator. Here is how to add another order when you need one, and what to expect.

Why a second order is not created

If a creator already has an order on the activation, and the activation is set to one order per creator, adding another order does not create a second one. GRIN answers with Selected creators already have orders. Edit the existing order or enable multiple orders on this activation. rather than creating a duplicate.

How to add another order

You have two options, and they are the same two the message names:

  1. Edit the existing order. To change the product, quantity, or details for a creator who already has an order, open their existing order and choose Edit Order.

  2. Turn on multiple orders for the activation. If you need to send a separate, additional shipment to a creator, enable the option that allows creators to submit multiple orders in the activation's product settings. With this on, each new order you add creates a brand new order instead of updating the existing one, so you can send more than one order to the same creator.

Note: Turning on multiple orders means each new order you add creates a new, separate order in your store. Use it when you truly need additional shipments, not to correct an existing order.

What "Awaiting Shipment" means

An order shown as Awaiting Shipment in the Fulfill Products tab has been placed successfully and is waiting to be fulfilled or shipped. It is the shipment status every new order starts on, so it does not mean the order failed. You can confirm the order in your store (for example, Shopify) using its order number.
