Understanding Payment Timing and Payouts
When can I expect payments through GRIN and how are payouts managed?
GRIN provides the platform through which brands manage payments to collaborators, but it does not have control over payment schedules or initiation. Here is everything you need to know about how payouts work and what to expect:
Setting Up Your Payout Information
To receive payments through GRIN, you must ensure that your payout details are correctly set up:
Add a Bank Transfer payout method on your Live Site. Bank Transfer is the only supported payout method. PayPal is no longer supported.
Submit a valid tax form: W-9 for U.S. residents, W-8BEN for non-U.S. residents.
Failure to complete these steps will result in any payments being refunded to the brand within 30 days. It is crucial to have this setup finalized to avoid payment disruptions. For a full walkthrough, see the Creator Payment Guide.
Understanding Payout Timelines
Payments are handled directly by the brand according to their individual workflows. These processes might include payments being issued immediately or on specific schedules, such as:
Daily
Weekly
Bi-weekly
Monthly
Quarterly
GRIN does not initiate payouts or influence these timelines. As such, if your payment is marked as "Owed" or "Pending," it simply indicates that the brand has not initiated the transaction yet.
What to Do If Payments Are Delayed
Since GRIN does not oversee or control the payout process, we recommend that you:
Check if your payout information is correctly set up, including your bank account details and tax form submission. Your Payouts page should show your Bank Transfer method as Active and your tax form as Reviewed.
Contact the brand representative you have been working with for further updates about your owed or pending payments.
Brands are your primary point of contact for questions regarding payment initiation or delays.
Important Disclaimer
GRIN's role is limited to providing a platform for brands to manage payments. GRIN cannot:
Initiate payments on behalf of brands
Control or modify a brand's payout schedule
For any payout-related concerns, your best course of action is to communicate directly with the brand.
