Using GRIN with Non-USD and Multi-Currency Shopify Stores
Yes. You can connect a Shopify store that sells in a currency other than USD, or in more than one currency with Shopify Markets, and GRIN will track your creators' conversions from it. This article explains how GRIN handles currency for those stores and what to check if a conversion amount looks wrong.
Connecting a non-USD store
You connect a non-USD or multi-currency store the same way you connect any Shopify store, there is no separate currency setup. See Integrating with Shopify for the connection steps, and keep in mind that a few extra steps are required after connecting before conversions are tracked.
How GRIN records currency on conversions
When a conversion comes in from your Shopify store, GRIN reads the order's presentment currency, the currency your customer actually checked out in, and records the conversion in that currency. GRIN then applies an exchange rate so the value is converted where your reporting needs it, based on your brand's configured currency. This means a sale made in EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, or another supported currency is captured in that currency and converted, rather than being treated as USD.
If an older conversion shows the wrong currency or value
Conversions recorded before a recent currency fix may show a blank currency, or a value that was not converted (an exchange rate of 1.0). This was a known issue that has since been corrected for new conversions. If you see historical conversions with a missing currency, or an amount that does not look converted, contact GRIN support so the team can review the affected records and correct them where possible.
Why a product might show a cost of $0.00
If a product shows a cost of $0.00 in Fulfill Products, that is the cost saved on the product in GRIN, not a currency conversion problem. GRIN cannot know your true product cost, so update the product's cost in GRIN and the correct value will display.
