Connecting Facebook to GRIN: What Brands Can and Can't Connect
Overview
If you are a brand and want to connect Facebook to GRIN, "connecting Facebook" can mean two different things, and they work differently:
Getting your creators' Facebook content and metrics to flow into GRIN. This is done by each creator, from their own Live Site.
Connecting your brand's own social account, for Social Listening and content previews. At the brand level, GRIN currently supports Instagram and TikTok for Business, not Facebook.
As a brand, you do not use a Live Site for either case. Live Sites belong to creators.
Getting Your Creators' Facebook Content into GRIN
The Facebook connection is made by the creator, on their own Live Site, not from your brand account.
1. Make sure the creator has a Live Site link for your program. If they don't, send them one.
2. Have the creator open their Live Site and go to Networks, then follow the steps for connecting a Facebook account.
3. Once connected, GRIN pulls in that creator's Facebook content and engagement metrics for you automatically.
4. If a creator can't connect their Facebook account, they can still upload their Facebook stats manually, so you still get performance numbers for their content.
Connecting Your Brand's Own Social Accounts
There is no brand-side Facebook connection in GRIN today. The brand-level options are:
Instagram: connect it under Brands > Edit Brand > Step 4. Social Accounts, following the steps for connecting your brand's Instagram. This unlocks Social Listening and creator content previews in Instagram Creator Search.
TikTok: connect your TikTok for Business account under Account > App Marketplace, following the steps for integrating with TikTok for Business.
If a brand-side Facebook connection would be valuable for your team, let our support team know through the in-app chat so we can record the request.
What About Facebook Groups?
GRIN does not sync content from Facebook Groups. The Facebook connection is made against a creator's own Facebook account: on their Live Site, under Networks, the creator enters their Facebook username. There is no option to connect a Facebook Group, and the account cannot be private.
What GRIN syncs from a connected Facebook account is the creator's own Posts, Videos, and Reels. Metrics are not available for Facebook Reels or Stories, only for Posts and Videos. Group content is not one of the supported types, so it will not appear in GRIN on its own.
If a specific post inside a Group matters to you, ask the creator to deliver it as a file upload from their Live Site rather than waiting on automatic sync, following the steps for manually uploading content. They can supply the metrics for that post at the same time.
If your goal is discovering creators or brand mentions rather than collecting a specific post, note that Social Listening tracks Instagram mentions and hashtags only, so it will not surface activity inside a Facebook Group either.
Conclusion
To get Facebook data into GRIN, have your creators connect Facebook from their own Live Site. For your brand's own accounts, connect Instagram or TikTok for Business, since Facebook is not available at the brand level today. Facebook Group content is outside what GRIN syncs, so collect it as a manual upload if you need it.
